June has been a busy month for the REP team – forums, site trips, study tours, and the launch of our new project websites.

Supporting Widi’s Cultural Centre Vision Through Knowledge Sharing

In June, REP attended a study tour with Capricornia Pumped Hydro as they continue to support Widi Aboriginal Corporation’s aspiration to develop and operate a Cultural Centre and Keeping Place of their own. Heading to Far North Queensland this time, the visit gave Widi representatives the opportunity to experience a range of Aboriginal cultural tourism, arts and land management initiatives, including Doongal Aboriginal Art in Kuranda, the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience at Rainforestation Nature Park, the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre and learned about the Eastern Kuku Yalanji Ranger Program. Building on the learnings from their earlier Southeast Queensland cultural centre tour, this trip provided further practical insights into cultural storytelling, visitor experience, governance, ranger-led programs and community-led enterprise. This trip emphasises Capricornia Pumped Hydro’s continued support of Widi as they shape a Cultural Centre that reflects their culture, priorities and long-term aspirations.

Strengthening Bushfire Resilience Across Renewable Energy Developments

Bond Watson, REP’s General Manager – Wind, attended the Western Downs Solar & BESS Bushfire Resilience Forum in Brisbane, hosted by Western Downs Regional Council. The forum brought together key industry stakeholders, Council representatives and the Queensland Fire Department to discuss bushfire risk and resilience for solar and battery energy storage developments across the region. It provided a valuable opportunity to share lessons from recent bushfire events, give insight into the varying levels of a project’s engineering definition throughout the development lifecycle, explore practical mitigation and preparedness measures, and strengthen collaboration between industry, Council and local fire brigades. The discussion reinforced the importance of early engagement at local and State levels, understanding community safety expectations, proactive planning to cost effectively address regulatory requirements, and ensuring strong partnerships between all stakeholders throughout development, construction, and operation of solar and BESS power infrastructure.

Chahpingah Wind Farm Wind Monitoring Update

This month we commenced our wind monitoring campaign at our Chahpingah Wind Farm project with the installation of three LiDAR units. These remote sensing systems will provide high-resolution wind data across key areas of the site, improving our understanding of wind resource characteristics and supporting more accurate energy yield modelling. The additional data will also enhance design optimisation and reduce uncertainty as the project progresses.

The Future of Solar is Bright

Luke McDonald, REP’s CEO, attended Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich, Germany, the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry. Held from 23–25 June 2026, the event brought together global market leaders, project developers, suppliers, service providers and innovators to showcase the latest solar technologies, market trends and business models. Attendance provided a valuable opportunity to stay connected with international developments in solar energy, strengthen industry relationships, and gain insights that support our continued focus on renewable energy development and the transition to a cleaner, more resilient energy future.

Keeping the Community Updated

REP is pleased to announce the launch of three brand new websites for our newest development projects – Chahpingah Wind Farm, Lake Dalrymple Wind Farm and Bogunda Energy Hub. These sites will serve as a central place for project information, including key updates, timelines, environmental assessments, and opportunities for community engagement as each project progresses. We encourage local stakeholders and interested community members to visit the sites to stay informed and follow development milestones.

Looking Ahead

As we move into July, REP will continue building on the connections, insights and partnerships strengthened throughout June, with a focus on progressing our renewable energy projects in a way that supports communities, industry collaboration and long-term positive outcomes.

If you’d like to learn more or get in touch with the team, we’d welcome the conversation.
